小白兔和小灰兔（佚名）

老山羊(1)在地里收白菜，

Grandpa Goat was harvesting Chinese cabbages in the field.

小白兔和小灰兔来帮忙。

Little White Rabbit and Little Gray Rabbit came to help.

收完白菜，老山羊把一车白菜送给小灰兔。

After the cabbages had been harvested, Grandpa Goat gave Little Gray Rabbit a wagon of Chinese cabbages.

小灰兔收下了，说：“谢谢您！”

Little Gray Rabbit took it and said: “Thank you!”

老山羊又把一车白菜送给小白兔。

Grandpa Goat also gave a wagon of cabbages to Little White Rabbit.

小白兔说：“我不要白菜，

Little White Rabbit said: “I don’t want cabbages.

请您给我一些菜子吧。”

Would you please give me some vegetable seeds?”

老山羊送给小白兔一包菜子。

Grandpa Goat gave Little White Rabbit a package of vegetable seeds.

小白兔回到家里，把地翻松了，种上菜子。

Little White Rabbit went home, loosened up the soil, and sowed the seeds.

过了几天，白菜长出来了。

After a few days, cabbages came out.

小白兔常常给白菜浇水，施肥，拔草，捉虫。

Little White Rabbit watered, fertilized, weeded, and debugged the cabbage plants regularly.

白菜很快就长大了。

The cabbages grew up very fast.

小灰兔把一车白菜拉回家里。

Little Gray Rabbit pulled the wagon of Chinese cabbages home.

他不干活了，饿了就吃老山羊送的白菜。

It did nothing to earn a living and ate cabbages given by Grandpa Goat when it was hungry. 

过了些日子，小灰兔把白菜吃完了，又到老山羊家里去要白菜。

After some time, Little Gray Rabbit finished eating all the Chinese cabbages and went to Grandpa Goat’s home to ask for more cabbages.

这时候，他看见小白兔挑着一担白菜，给老山羊送来了。

At this time, it saw Little White Rabbit was delivering a load of Chinese cabbages to Grandpa Goat by carrying it on a bamboo stick over its shoulder.

小灰兔很奇怪，问道：“小白兔，你的菜是哪儿来的？”

Little Gray Rabbit was very curious and asked: “Little White Rabbit, where do your vegetables e from?” 

小白兔说：“是我自己种的。

Little White Rabbit said: “I grow them myself.

只有自己种，才有吃不完的菜。”

You would have an inexhaustible supply of vegetables only when you grow them yourself.”
